Into Each Life Some Rain Must Fall (barbershop quartet)

from Category: Sheet Music by Jeremy Kings

/

about

Arrangement of the classic Ink Spots tune for barbershop quartet. Starts off with a lesser known intro, then the familiar tune. Second iteration of the chorus borrows Ella Fitzgerald's variations on the melody, and passes the line between each member of the quartet. Finishes off with a barbershop-style (mostly) unprepared key change and a fun tag.

[This preview uses piano samples, as I find voice samples are often of questionable quality.]

lyrics

INTRO
You can't have the sun without showers,
each rose must have its thorn.
You can't have the spring without winter,
that's been true since the world was born.

CHORUS
Into each life some rain must fall,
but too much is falling in mine.
Into each heart some tears must fall,
but some day the sun will shine.

VERSE
Some folks can lose the blues in their hearts,
But when I think of you another shower starts.
Into each life some rain must fall,
but too much is falling in mine.

(Repeat CHORUS + VERSE)

TAG
Oh, too much is falling in mine! [last word sustained by lead]
Rain today and cloudy skies, but some day the sun will shine!
(That sun's gonna shine!)
